Hitachi Automotive Systems Named Winner of Community Impact Award in Inaugural Georgia Automotive Awards

Monroe, GA – December 1, 2016 --- Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas’ Monroe, GA plant was recognized by The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) today as the inaugural winner of the Community Impact Award. The Georgia Automotive Awards are designed to recognize leaders throughout the state, and to honor them for the contributions they have made to build a robust automotive ecosystem.

The first-ever Georgia Automotive Awards were awarded to companies and individuals in five unique categories: Company of the Year, Leader of the Year, Innovation Award, Supplier of the Year and Community Impact Award.

“Georgia is a key market for Hitachi Automotive Systems and our work here is paramount to the overall success of our organization,” said Paul Carroll, President and CEO, Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas. “The robust automotive industry and network in the state, combined with business-friendly tax incentives and an overall low cost of doing business, make Georgia an ideal location for Hitachi Automotive Systems to continue on its growth path. This honor further validates the great things Hitachi Automotive Systems is doing, and we sincerely appreciate the committee’s consideration.”

The Community Impact Award was conferred upon Hitachi for strongly demonstrating a high level of corporate citizenship in and around the local community and/or within the state of Georgia. Among the numerous community programs supported by Hitachi, the award cited Hitachi’s contributions and involvement with two community impact programs including F.I.S.H (Faith in Serving Humanity) and the Communities in Schools program.
